Your antivirus blocked Nimbus

Whitelist the install folder. Find your AV below and follow the steps. The folder you need to allow is:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Nimbus
Why an exclusion is required: Nimbus uses techniques (DLL injection, in-memory code generation, kernel-mode anti-cheat interaction) that overlap with malware behaviour. Generic heuristics flag the EXE on first run and again every time the auto-updater swaps a new build into place. Excluding the folder lets the loader update without your AV re-quarantining each new revision.

Windows Defender (built-in)

  1. 1Press Win + I Privacy & security Windows Security Virus & threat protection.
  2. 2Under Virus & threat protection settings click Manage settings.
  3. 3Scroll to Exclusions Add or remove exclusions → confirm UAC.
  4. 4Click Add an exclusion Folder, paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\Nimbus into the address bar, press Enter, and click Select Folder.
  5. 5If Defender already quarantined the loader, click Protection history → find the “Threat blocked” row → click Actions Restore Allow on device.

If your PC is enrolled in Intune / WSUS, your IT admin controls this list.

Malwarebytes

  1. 1Open Malwarebytes → Settings (gear icon) → Allow List tab.
  2. 2Click Add Allow a file or folder.
  3. 3Choose Select folder, navigate to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Nimbus (paste into the path bar), tick both Exclude from detection as malware and Exclude from detection as a potentially unwanted program, then OK.
  4. 4If the loader is already in Detection History, select the row → Restore Always allow.

Avast / AVG (same product family)

  1. 1Open Avast (or AVG) → Menu Settings.
  2. 2General Exceptions Add Exception.
  3. 3Type or paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\Nimbus\* (the wildcard at the end is required — Avast treats a bare folder path as a single file). Click Add Exception.
  4. 4Open the Virus Chest from the main menu, find the quarantined loader if present, right-click → Restore and add exception.

Norton 360 / Norton Security

  1. 1Open Norton → Settings Antivirus.
  2. 2On the Scans and Risks tab, scroll to Exclusions / Low Risks and click Configure next to Items to Exclude from Scans.
  3. 3Click Add Folders, browse to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Nimbus, tick Include Subfolders, click OK.
  4. 4Repeat on Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR and Download Intelligence Detection — Norton splits these into two separate lists; you need to add the folder to both.
  5. 5For an already-quarantined file: open the Security History, find the row, click Restore & Exclude this file.
After whitelisting: re-download the loader (the quarantine step may have deleted the file you saved). Place it into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Nimbus\NimbusLoader.exe and double-click. If SmartScreen still complains see /help/smartscreen.
