How to install Nimbus on Steam

Download path, where to extract, why OneDrive breaks auto-update, and how to verify the install.

Sign in at getnimbus.net/dashboard and click Download Loader. You'll get a ~3 MB signed Windows executable named nimbus-loader.exe.

Extract location matters. Move the executable to a stable folder before running it. We recommend C:\Nimbus\ because it's outside any sync engine. Do not keep the loader on the desktop if your desktop is OneDrive-backed, and do not put it in Dropbox or Google Drive — sync conflicts will corrupt the loader binary on auto-update.

Defender exclusion (optional but recommended). Add C:\Nimbus\ to Windows Defender's exclusion list. Open *Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings → Exclusions → Add a folder*. This prevents Defender from flagging the loader during auto-update, which is a transient false positive on some builds.

Verify the install. Right-click nimbus-loader.exe, go to *Properties → Digital Signatures*. You should see one signer entry. If the signatures tab is empty, you have a tampered or corrupted download — re-download from the dashboard, never from a third party.

Steam-specific: Nimbus launches Marvel Rivals through Steam's protocol handler (steam://rungameid/2767030), so you must be signed into Steam before clicking Launch Game. If Steam is not running, Nimbus will start it for you.
