How to link your Discord account (step-by-step)
Open the dashboard, click Link Discord, authorize OAuth, and the bot grants the Customer role within seconds.
Linking Discord is how Nimbus unlocks the customer-only channels (#support, #patch-status, the tier rooms). It's a one-time, two-click flow that takes about 20 seconds.
Step 1: join the server first. Open /discord and accept the invite. This is the step most people skip — if you authorize OAuth before joining, the bot can't grant you any roles because you aren't on the server yet. The link button still works, but you'll need to refresh after joining for the roles to appear.
Step 2: open the dashboard. Sign in at getnimbus.net/dashboard with the email tied to your purchase. In the Account panel, look for the Link Discord button under "Connections".
Step 3: authorize OAuth. Discord's standard consent screen appears. We request three scopes only — identify (so we know which Discord account is yours), email (so the link survives Discord username changes), and guilds.join (so the bot can ensure you're on the Nimbus server). No message reading, no DM sending, no friend list access.
Step 4: confirm. Within 5 seconds of authorizing, the bot assigns the Customer role on the Nimbus server and your dashboard switches the button to Discord linked with a green check. Lifetime customers also get a Lifetime role and access to #priority-support.
Switching to a different Discord account. Click Re-link Discord in the same panel — the new authorization overwrites the old one, the bot removes the role from the previous account, and reassigns it to the new one. No support ticket needed.
The bot didn't grant the role. Usually this means you weren't on the Nimbus server at the time of linking. Step 1 above fixes it; you can also click Re-sync roles in the dashboard to force a fresh role grant without redoing OAuth.
Privacy. We store your Discord user ID, username, avatar URL, and connected email. Nothing else. The link can be removed at any time from the same dashboard panel — the bot strips your roles within 60 seconds.
