Change the PC your key is bound to (HWID reset)
One-click HWID reset in the dashboard, 24-hour cooldown, instant relaunch on the new rig.
Each Nimbus key binds to a single Windows PC fingerprint on first use. To move the key to a different PC — new build, motherboard RMA, Windows reinstall, sold the old machine — reset the HWID from your dashboard.
Step 1: sign in on a web browser (any device — your phone is fine). Go to /dashboard. Open the Keys panel. Click the key you want to move.
Step 2: hit Reset HWID. The dashboard shows a confirmation modal with the current HWID (anonymized fingerprint) and a warning about the cooldown. Confirm. The key unbinds within 2 seconds.
Step 3: launch the loader on the new PC. First launch after a reset prompts for your sign-in as usual. The loader binds the key to the new HWID on successful sign-in and unlocks the Launch tab. There is no "second redeem step" — sign in is the bind.
24-hour cooldown. You can reset once per 24-hour window per key. The button is greyed out with a live countdown if you're inside the window. The cooldown is per-key, not per-account, so a Lifetime + Month combo can each be reset within the same day.
Cooldown waivers. Real-life emergencies (motherboard RMA, your Windows install died, you sold the old PC mid-cooldown) — open a ticket in #support on Discord with your order ID and a one-line description. We waive the cooldown manually within the hour. Abuse waivers get the key revoked; we've never had to do that for a real customer.
"Same PC, fresh Windows" — does HWID survive? No. A clean Windows install changes the disk serial and the CPU's per-install GUID enough that the fingerprint comes out different. Reset the HWID after the reinstall and you're back. We don't auto-detect this case because the signal is genuinely indistinguishable from "different PC, same person".
Bound HWID hardware list. The fingerprint we hash is: motherboard serial (SMBIOS table 2), CPU ID + brand string, primary disk serial. RAM size, GPU model, network adapter MAC, and Windows install GUID are deliberately excluded — they change too often to be useful as a binding signal.
Lifetime customers and HWID resets. No special limit. The 24h cooldown applies the same way. The exception: if your motherboard physically dies and you have proof (RMA serial or invoice), we waive the cooldown for the rest of that month — just include the proof in your ticket.
