How to reset HWID
When the cooldown is, where the button lives, and what to expect.
The cooldown
You can rotate the HWID bound to your key once every 24 hours. The cooldown is per-key, not per-account; if you have two keys, they each have their own 24-hour timer.
Where the button is
- Sign in at /dashboard.
- Open the Licenses tab.
- Find the key you want to rotate.
- Click Rotate HWID. The button is disabled and shows the remaining cooldown if you've already used today's rotation.
If the dashboard says you have a rotation available but the button is greyed-out, refresh the page. The cooldown clock is computed server-side; client cache can lag.
What happens
When you click the button:
- The current HWID is cleared from your key's record.
- The next sign-in from any machine becomes the new bound HWID.
- Sign in from your new PC; you're done.
You do not need to talk to support for a normal HWID reset.
Why we throttle
Without a cooldown, the HWID lock would be cosmetic — one key would rotate through a dozen friends in an hour. The 24-hour window is short enough to handle "I just got a new PC" and long enough to prevent key-sharing.
If you have a legitimate same-day need (a real hardware failure mid-session), open a ticket. We do override the cooldown for clear-cut cases. See Lost access on new PC.
